Karsten Creek Golf Course

Award-Winning Project

In the summer and fall preceding the prestigious 2018 NCAA Golf Championship, JONESPLAN was hired by Karsten Creek to complete multiple projects throughout the course. In preparation for the event, all 89 tees on the course were stripped and regraded to provide a 1% fall from all concrete paths and to make surrounds match the existing grade.

To provide a superior teeing surface, all tees were sodded with Zeon Zoysia turfgrass. The entire 42,000 SF driving range tee was renovated with new subsurface drainage, then fully laser leveled and re-grassed with Latitude 36 Bermudagrass.

All bunkers on the course were renovated to include remediation of all elements within their existing footprints, Capillary Concrete bunker drainage systems, and new sand from North Carolina.

As instructed by Karsten Creek’s Golf Club superintendent, JONESPLAN blended and installed 90% sand and 10% Reed-Sedge Peat Moss as the growing medium on the three practice greens on site.
